West Tuscaloosa
West Tuscaloosa generally refers to the area west of Interstate 359, south of the Black Warrior River, and north of the Moody Swamp.
Attractions:
Located in West Tuscaloosa is Stillman College, a 100-acre, historically black, private liberal arts college that features modern facilities embraced by stately magnolia trees. It was founded in 1876 to train black ministers. The C.A. Fredd Campus of Shelton State Community College is also located in West Tuscaloosa, which was originally the Tuscaloosa State Trade School in 1963. It is one of the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities and plays a special role in extending the operations and activities of Shelton State to West Alabama’s culturally diverse population. The Country Club at Tuscaloosa with its beautiful golf course is also located in West Tuscaloosa, as well as several parks.

Located on Culver Road, Nick’s in the Sticks is one of the most popular restaurants in Tuscaloosa. The restaurant is known for their classic hole-in-the-wall environment combined with good food and drinks. Their steaks are fabulous and their famous “Nicodemus” drink is a must-try!
